Shanti by the Sea is a short 8-minute walk to Pt Willunga Beach which is also central to several other top Adelaide beaches!
All within 5-15 mins by car there's the convenience of drive-on beaches at Sellicks Beach, Aldinga Beach, Silver Sands & Moana, Australia's first official unclad beach at Maslin and Pt Noarlunga Beach's sheltered waters protected by a reef that can be accessed via the jetty.
The area offers a wide variety of different water conditions and activities from swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding and surfing, to snorkeling or diving the Star of Greece shipwreck at Port Willunga and nearby reefs at Pt Noarlunga.
Kayaks and paddleboards are usually available for hire on the beach at Port Willunga during warmer months and diving tours are also available from Pt Noarlunga.
Wind & kite surfing are also popular activities along this stretch of coastline & the cliffs offer an ideal launch site for paragliding.
Out of the water, explore marine reserve reefs & cliff-side walking tracks, or just quietly relax on the beach with a good book.
During winter months, Salmon is a popular fisher's target in the surf breaks off the beach in Port Willunga bay while further out, grass beds & sandy flats provide ideal spots to catch squid and whiting, especially for kayakers. Beach launching is also provided at nearby Aldinga Beach for boaties or fish for Flathead at the mouth of the Onkaparinga River at Port Noarlunga.
Port Willunga also has easy access to the Southern Fleurieu Coast, home of some of SA's best surfing beaches!

A holiday at Port Willunga is not just for beach lovers with McLaren Vale at the heart of one of Australia's premier Wine Regions being only 10 mins away by car.
The area is home to over 80 cellars doors & in recent years has also seen the growth in boutique beer taphouses and spirit distilleries, giving rise to a Beer and Spirit Trail that showcases the impressive range of craft spirits and beer produced in the region.
If you're a lover of high-quality beer, wine & spirits, it's hard to beat just sitting back after a long day at the beach enjoying an amazing sunset on the balcony with a local bevergae in hand!

Perched atop the cliff-tops, the renowned Star of Greece Restaurant overlooks the bay at Port Willunga which is the resting place of the Star of Greece shipwreck from which the restaurant takes its name.

Each year, January sees cyclists from around the world come to compete in the Tour Down Under with stages taking in the Esplanade only metres from Shanti's balcony and the King of the Hill finish just a short drive to the nearby historic Willunga township.

Visit the giant 18m Guanyin statue and Buddhist Temple at Sellicks Hill just to the south on the road to Kangaroo Island.

Take a scenic flight over coast and vines in one of several the restored bi-planes operating from Aldinga Airport.

A short 30-min scenic drive to the south-east takes you to Victor Harbor where you can explore the southern surf beaches to the Murray Mouth and upper Coorong regions around Goolwa. Whilst there, extend your Fleurieu wine experience to the Currency Creek and Langhorne Creek areas.

To the south of Port Willunga lies the magnificent beaches around Carrickalinga, Normanville and Lady Bay or discover the hidden gems at Second Valley and Rapid Bay.
